The beauty products maker's stock closed Wednesday at $31.03, achieving Analyst Justin Hott's $31 target. The stock was last down 1.1% at $30.68. "We recommend reducing exposure now, as Avon approaches previous 2006 highs," Hott said. Fortune-Thursday October 12, 11:34 am ET Thursday Barnes inherited a mish-mash of companies when she became CEO last year. So she began selling noncore businesses like Hanes apparel to focus on food. The divested units made up 40% of Sara Lee's revenues, which were $19.3 billion when Barnes took over and are expected to shrink to about $11.6 billion this year. The stock is still lagging, as Barnes has been forced to lower the company's long-term targets.

Port St. Lucie, FL, October 12, 2006 --(PR.COM)-- Doing business on the Internet is touted to be simple, inexpensive, and a great way to make a living. Needless to say, not every company who promises easy wealth using their "program" or "system" is willing or able to deliver on their so-called guarantees. So where do people looking for an online business turn? The answer may be to stop looking at MLM and other programs, and start thinking more traditionally: buy items at wholesale prices, mark them up, and make a profit.

Fortune ( Oct 9th 2006) We're in the middle of a turnaround. We've eliminated 10 percent of our workforce, cut almost 30 percent of our management, and reduced 15 layers to eight. This brings us closer to the market. It also helps us cut costs by almost $200 million annually. Now I have to decide, how do we invest those savings?
